L’attività di ricerca e scientifica dell’unità è incentrata sulle patologie indotte dai principali agenti infettivi. In particolare l’unita’ si interessa delle infezioni dei virus HIV e HBV, HCV, e del micobatterio della tubercolosi.
L’attività è pertanto organizzata sulle seguenti principali linee di ricerca:
- Studio delle patologie encefaliche diffuse e focali dell’immunocompromesso da HIV

1. Correlazione del quadro radiologico con i parametri clinico/microbiologici e con i biomarcatori sperimentali immunologici di malattia
2. Correlazione del quadro radiologico dei migranti in screening vs migranti stanziali
3. Correlazione del quadro radiologico e della localizzazione polmonare o extrapolmonare con l’etnia del paziente.

Radiology of Infectious Diseases
Scientific and research activity in the unit concentrates on the induced pathologies by the main infectious agents. Particularly, the unit focuses on infections from viruses like HIV and HBV, HCV, as well as the tuberculosis’s mycobacteria.
